Opus Bistro & Steakhouse at the South Shore Harbor Resort & Conference Center in League City hosted the seventh annual charity event benefiting Hope Haven-Belize on Nov. 5. 2023

 

Debbie Drury Tyrone, CEO & President of Market Doctors and founding board member of Hope Haven Children's Home and Community Center in San Pedro, Belize, shared a heartfelt story.

 

She recounted vacationing with her family for over 20 years in the scenic town, where she met Mayor Gualberto 'Wally' Nuñez. Moved by his request to aid local youth, Debbie, along with Skyler Whitton-Cornelius, COO/Vice President of Market Doctors, organized the annual fundraiser.

 

Their efforts transformed Hope Haven into a children's shelter and community center offering education, parenting workshops, and empowerment sessions. Debbie Tyrone emphasized, "It starts in the heart, regardless of the location."
